Context
Móng Cái is a border city in northeastern Quảng Ninh Province, roughly 350 km from Hanoi. It holds strategic importance for both national defense and the economy, shares a border with China, and functions as a major trade and tourism hub.
Challenge
Planning for the Móng Cái Border-Gate Economic Zone is tied to the province’s polycentric urban development strategy, aiming to strengthen logistics competitiveness, expand cross-border trade and optimize its role as a strategic commercial bridge between Vietnam, ASEAN and China. The work progressed continuously from concept through the 1:2,000 Zoning Plan and Phase 1 Detailed Planning dossier.
